Farming is the core chapter of our story and has been for more than three decades. As stewards of this 160-acre mountain property, we farm in a holistic manner – meaning we use organic and regenerative agricultural practices. Patience, observation, science, and experimentation guide our approach. Since the planting of our high-density vineyard in the late 1980s, we have practiced no-till farming, minimal organic sprays, no tractors between the rows, and no herbicides under the vine. This leads us to craft truly unique, balanced, and age-worthy estate wines.

Bonterra Organic Estates

Bonterra Organic Estates, based in Hopland, is the largest Regenerative Organic Certified™ winery in the United States. As a B Corporation recognized as “Outstanding” by the nonprofit B Lab, Bonterra Organic Estates is grounded in the transformational goals of regenerative business. In 2015, we became the first recipient of the California Green Medal Leader award. In 2017, we were the only winery in the world to be commended at COP23 by the United Nations with a “Momentum for Change” Climate Solutions Award. And, in 2021 we achieved Climate Neutral certification for the production and delivery of our wines.

BOONVILLE ROAD WINES

Sourcing from some of the best of Mendocino County’s unique collection of vineyards, picking with abundant natural acidity and at a spectrum of ripeness, we look to produce the kind of wines we want to drink: fresh, mineral, and pure. We sort meticulously, ferment on native yeasts at cooler temperatures, and use only neutral oak with a philosophy of minimal intervention. We do use a little SO2.

BRUTOCAO CELLARS

Brutocao Cellars is a 4th generation family owned and operated winery producing hand crafted, award winning wines in southern Mendocino County. They have several vineyards as well, including Anderson Valley, Feliz Creek, Bliss, and Contento.

In their tasting room, which is housed in the old Hopland High School, they open more than two dozen wines for tasting each day. Varietals such as cabernet sauvignon, merlot, pinot noir, sauvignon blanc, and zinfandel are on the list. So are wines from their Italian series, for which Brutocao is gaining recognition.

Fairall’s Farm

Fairall’s Farm began in the spring of 2005 when we found ourselves with 55 chicks, to help feed our 1 year old who was eating eggs nonstop. We joined the Redwood Valley Farmers Market selling our Farm Fresh Eggs, left over produce. We expanded production and started selling at 4 different farmers Markets in Mendocino County.

I love cooking & creating things around the farm & sharing all of our yummies with our family, friends & fans. I've been cooking and experimenting since I was a little girl. I added Handcrafted Jam & preserving foods in the summer of 2011. Now we are sharing our Savory & Sweet treats in our all new Fairall's Farm Food Wagon. Please Enjoy

FREY VINEYARDS

We are a third-generation family-owned and operated winery located at the pristine headwaters of the Russian River in Redwood Valley, Mendocino County, California. At Frey Vineyards we combine the best of modern and traditional winemaking methods to showcase distinctive varietal flavors. Through minimal manipulation in the cellar, we allow the wines to express the authentic character of our soils and climate. For over three decades we have been vanguards in crafting wine without added sulfites, a synthetic preservative added to most other wines (even wines made with organically grown grapes!) that can cause adverse allergic reactions in some people.

GREENWOOD RIDGE

Specializing in late harvest Riesling and Pinot Noir, Greenwood Ridge was established in 1980 by Allan Green, and with an annual production of less than 1500 cases, has built a reputation for producing award-winning, small lot wines. Named one of America’s top 30 wineries three times in recent years by Wine & Spirits Magazine, Greenwood Ridge has continued to receive positive accolades at major competitions. Purchased in 2016 by Ken and Diane Wilson, Winemaker Victoria Wilson now heads the winemakeing for all Greenwood Ridge wines continuing the long tradition of honoring the Anderson Valley and Mendocino fruit.

HANDLEY CELLARS

Handley Cellars is a small family-owned winery located at the northwest end of California's Anderson Valley on the historic Guntley Ranch, just 10 miles inland from the Pacific coast. We grow certified organic Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Gewurztraminer for our still and sparkling estate wines. We also work with handful of neighboring vineyards to make Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Syrah, and Zinfandel.

Founded by Milla Handly in 1982, Handley Cellars was the first winery in the United States established by a woman winemaker in her own name, and the fifth bonded winery in Anderson Valley. In 2005 the Handley Estate Vineyard became the first certified organic vineyard in Anderson Valley. Still family owned and operated by a second generation, we are passionate about organic farming, careful stewardship of the land, and handcrafted winemaking.

HUSCH VINEYARDS

Husch Vineyards is a small, family owned and operated winery. It is the oldest winery in the Anderson Valley appellation, located in Mendocino County (Northern California) just 2 1/2 hours north of San Francisco.

Under the direction of 3rd generation family members Husch produces 22 different wines, of which six are distributed nationally. Small lots of special wines are available exclusively at our tasting room, a converted pony barn dating back to the late 1800s.

Navarro VIneyards

Our family has been growing grapes, making wine and producing non-alcoholic grape juices in the Anderson Valley in coastal Mendocino since 1974. Since we are small, you probably will not find our wine in your local store, the majority of our production is sold directly out of our tasting room and through phone and web orders.

NORTHSPUR BREWING CO.

Our Taproom and beer patio are the perfect place to enjoy our craft beers with friends and family. We have 19 taps which feature our core, year-rounded beers as well as some specialty brews which are only available for a limited time. As well as pints, we also offer 4oz tasters and 10oz half pours. For beer-to-go, we have 64oz growler refills (on most beers) an 32oz crower cans.

Willits is a small town along 101 with just under 5,000 people. Through the summer, the town accommodates many international travelers and is well known as the gateway to the redwoods.

SCHARFFENBERGER CELLARS

The history of Scharffenberger Cellars begins in 1981 in the heart of Mendocino’s Anderson Valley. Situated only miles from the coastal influences of the Pacific Ocean, Scharffenberger Cellars also enjoys the deep soils and sunshine with in the protected valley. Originally founded by John Scharffenberger, the winery entered a new chapter as a member of the Roederer Collection in 2004. Today winemaker Jeffrey Jindra continues to craft without compromise delicious sparkling wines that showcase the unparalleled uniqueness of Mendocino County terroir.

Rootdown cellars

For all wines, Mike harvests his fruit to lead with earth and texture, rather than only fruit. Stylistically, these wines have low alcohol, high acid and more delicate, brighter color. His style remains very decidedly hands-off, allowing the grapes and specific sites to speak for themselves. He ferments the wines with native yeasts, no new oak, and sulfur only in amounts equal to what is found naturally on the vine. Mike’s technical prowess as a winemaker is finely tuned, but he usually prefers to let curiosity inform what happens with his Rootdown wines. He is constantly having fun “making decisions that he shouldn’t make,” and always playing with “What if?”

Our goal has been to consistently create a food friendly wine  that reflects our beloved Mendocino Ranch—its fresh earthiness, its daily warmth, and complementary foggy evening breezes; a wine that is pure and prominently derived from estate grown 100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes.
